History of Claret-e

As Victor Meldrew would have said “I don’t belieeeeeeeeeeeeve it! Claret-e finally has a website!” Well it’s only taken ten years and with a name like ours would you really expect it? Well yes actually. Anyway, welcome to our site.

For those who don’t know, Claret-e was set up in 1999. Our theory still remains the same now as it did at our conception. We wanted to run a low cost business, deal direct with all our suppliers/growers and pass on all possible savings to our customers. Please browse through our Drinking List (link to list) and you will we hope see how our prices competitive are. While we specialise in the main growing areas of France, we like to think we can get anything for anyone at the right price. So if it is not on the list please contact us and we will get you a price.

We hold large stocks on our Fine Wine List Buy Wine and if the Latour or Lafite vintage is not on the list contact us and we will get you a price. Our investment clients have several million pounds worth of wine with us and if the time and price is right, they might well be persuaded to sell, but caveat emptor, there is no guarantee.

We are not an agency company, so we don’t have to buy every successive vintage from our suppliers. If we don’t like it, we don’t buy it, it’s that simple. There is enough good wine around for us to find something which appeals to everyone.

There are times where we find small parcels of wine that will not be on the list. These we send out at great prices as special offers on e-mail. Please just put you e-mail address in the box below and we would be delighted to add it you to our list.
